Aquadulce Claudia broad bean seeds - probably the best for Autumn sowing
‌Sow Aquadulce Claudia seeds this Autumn for the earliest broad bean crop as this is recognised as the best variety for an Autumn sowing and comes with an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Aquadulce Claudia broad bean seeds establish themselves quickly, are very hardy and produce very early crops. ‘Claudia' produces very long glossy pods up to 9in, with tender light coloured beans.
Sow Aquadulce seeds in Autumn, preferably in October or November. This broad bean will produce hardy young plants, strong enough to stand the winter frosts and ready to grow away quickly as soon as warmer spring days arrive. We recommend that you use a net to deter wildlife.
For AUTUMN sowing only.
Sow Outdoors: October-December, in clean module trays or direct into the required harvest position, 2in (5cm) deep, 8in (20cm) apart in double rows 8in (20cm) apart. Leave 18in (46cm) between each double row. Do not sow when soil is waterlogged or frozen.
Harvest: June-July
Run strings both sides along the double row at 12in (30cm) and 24in (60cm) from the ground, supporting stems as they grow. Pick young for best flavour.
