Organic slug control & repellent
If you have a garden then you have slugs, those slimy creatures which either live in your soil and come out at night to chomp on your newly emerged vegetables, or the ones which live under stones and pop out to damage your crop after a drop of rain.
Whatever, they are a pest and they need to be controlled before they decimate your veg and undo all the hard work you have put in thus far, the worst scenario being that you have a serious slug attack when it is too late to replant, as with carrots for instance.
With all this in mind we have been looking into slug control and especially organic slug repellents which are also pet friendly, after all there is little point in killing your pet cat as well as the pests.
We have taken a look at Slug Gone, one of the organic slug repellent products on offer at just a few pounds for a 1 litre tub works out cheaper than ordinary slug pellets, weight for weight.
This environmentally friendly way of protecting your flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables from slugs and snails also helps to retain soil moisture.
It is available in 1Litre, 3.5Litre and 10Litre tubs depending on the size of area you are looking to protect, Slug Gone is an easy and simple to use way to protect your plants.

An excellent alternative method of slug control is the Nemaslug which provides protection for up to 6 weeks. It is more expensive than Slug Gone but works for much longer.
Nemaslug Slug Killer is fast gaining a reputation as the organic way of winning the battle against garden slugs, and as one application of nemaslug can provide up to 6 weeks protection it is a cost effective slug killer as well.
One application of Nemaslug provides 300,000 nematodes - phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita - for every square metre of soil, giving at least six weeks control of slugs which is generally enough time for seedlings and bedding plants to get well established.
Simple to apply, impossible to overdose and totally safe to use around children, pets and wildlife, Nemaslug Slug Killer is ideal for organic gardening. Just mix the Nemaslug nematodes with water, choose a watering can with a coarse rose - or make life even easier with a hosepipe applicator - and water on the garden from the start of the growing season once soil temperatures hit 5 C.
The range of Nemaslug Slug Killer pack sizes (small and large) and programmes - developed by gardeners for gardeners - will help you find just the right treatment for your garden and allow you to grow slug-free vegetables and plants at last.
